Robert Gardner (born November 5, 1925 in Brookline, Massachusetts) was the Director of the Film Study Center at Harvard University from 1957 to 1997. He is known for his work in the field of visual anthropology.

An Interview with Robert Gardner

On Brookline Access Television renowned documentary filmmaker Robert Gardner who's early film work began with(Blunden Harbour (1951), Dances of the Kwakiutl (1951), Mark Tobey (1952), and Dead Birdsin 1964). Gardner's fascinating selection of documentary films speak of history and learning about new cultures, and people. Executive Producer and Host Daniel Berman will be speaking with the veteran filmmaker about his new book and his 1970's TV interview program The Screening Roomwith Les Blank. Our discussion will be talking about filmmaking and how it has changed over the last 50 years and what can we expect into the future with independent and Hollywoodfilms.

The taping will begin Friday February, 22nd 2008 at 2pm. Gardner can be seen on Thursdays at 8am then, rebroadcasted at 8pm, Sundays at 8:30pm, and Fridays at 2pm, channel 3.

The interview will begin airing on Brookline-TV Sunday May 11th, 2008 at 8:30pm.
