Robert III de Sablé founded the Abbaye du Gaut.[1] He married Clémence de Mayenne with whom he had a daughter, Marguerite,[1] and a son, Robert IV de Sablé.[2]
His father was Liziard, seigneur de Sablé, and both fought against Geoffroi Plante-Geneft, Comte d'Anjou.[3] The battle lasted until 1146, when they signed a treat.[3]
