Robert Louis-Dreyfus aka RLD (born 14 June 1946 – died 4 July 2009) was a Franco-Swiss billionaire.
Louis-Dreyfus joined the family company, Louis-Dreyfus Group in May 2000.
Life
He was chairman of Neuf Telecom until 2004 and served on the board of directors of Neuf Cegetel. Until February 2001, he was also the Chief Executive Officer of Adidas-Salomon, the German-based sporting goods maker. Louis-Dreyfus was from 1989 to 1993, he served as Chief Executive Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi, the UK-based advertising agency[1].
From 1982 to 1988, he was Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Executive Officer at IMS, an international market research firm for the pharmaceutical industry. Louis-Dreyfus gained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard University. Robert Louis-Dreyfus was the majority shareholder at Marseille football club from 1996 until his death.
Death
He died on 4 July 2009, following a long battle with leukemia.[2][3]
Personal
Robert was a cousin of actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
