The men's single sculls event was part of the rowing programme at the 1924 Summer Olympics. The competition, the sixth appearance of the event, was held from July 14, 1924, to July 17, 1924, on the river Seine.

Eight rowers, each from a different nation, competed. Beresford, the silver winner in 1920, took the gold after having to compete in the repechage to even secure a place in the final.
