The Rumour File is one of Melbourne's most popular radio segments.[1] Occurring on weekdays at 7:07am on radio station 3AW the often humorous Rumour File is a common source of news that leads newspaper, radio and television bulletins throughout the day.[2]

Listeners are encouraged to call in with a rumour they've heard around town, often leading to grand announcements scheduled to be made during the day, being revealed at 7:07am to 3AW's audience.

The segment has a daily winner and a weekly winner. These winners - as well as wildcard entries - go into the draw for the annual prize, which is chosen at random. The winner receives a brand new Lexus.[3]
