Ruslan and Ludmila (Template:Lang-ru) is a 1972 film directed by Aleksandr Ptushko. It is based on the poem of the same name written by Alexander Pushkin in 1820.
It is the last film of the director who created a large number of film fairy tales. According to film critics, "Ruslan and Ludmila" is top of works of the director.
The two-part screen version of the poem of the same name includes large-scale battle scenes, uses a large number of original scenery and suits. In the movie tricks of stuntmen and innovative methods of the combined shootings were used: the flying dwarf Chernomor, a talking head of a giant athlete.
Plot
The hero of the movie is the bogatyr Ruslan who moves off in searches of the kidnapped bride Ludmila. On the way of it wait for dangerous adventures, he should battle to the sorcerer Chernomor, the sorcerer Naina and to rescue the darling.
