SS Traffic is the sister ship to the SS Nomadic and tender for the White Star Line. She played a major role in the Titanic story, considering that she was built to serve the luxury Olympic Class liners. The SS Traffic ferried some of the 3rd class passengers to the ill fated Titanic on her maiden voyage. She was built by Harland and Wolff shipyard of Belfast, Ireland like Titanic herself. Her keel was laid down on December 22nd and was launched on April 27 1911. The vessel then underwent sea trials on May 18 1911. SS Traffic was handed over to the White Star Line on May 27 1911.

She was sold in 1934 to Sociéte Cherbourgeoise de Remorquage et de Sauvetage and renamed Ingenieur Riebell. Scuttled 1940 prior to capture by Germany. Salvaged and used as an armed coastal vessel then torpedoed January 17 1941 by the Royal Navy. The wrecks location is currently unknown.
