Sahil (Hindi: साहिल, Urdu: ساحل pronounced sā'·hĭl) is a masculine first name. It derives from the Indian word[clarification needed] for 'sea shore' that was borrowed from Arabic.[1]

The central region of Africa of Sahel is known as Sahil in Arabic ساحل literally meaning "shore, coast",
