Geography

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 2,453 people, 988 households, and 672 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 318.9/km² (826.8/mi²). There were 1,018 housing units at an average density of 132.3/km² (343.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.08% White, 0.24% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.33% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 1.14% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 988 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families. 26.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.92.
