Samuli Peltonen (born 1981) is a Finnish cellist.[1][2]

Education

Samuli Peltonen started his cello studies with his father Jussi Peltonen in Seinäjoki. He continued with Timo Hanhinen in Turku (1998–2002) and with Arto Noras in Sibelius Academy, Helsinki.

Work

He has played as soloist with majority of Finnish symphony orchestras and with many orchestras abroad as well. As chamber musician he has highly successful international career, also as the member of the Elokuu Ensemble.

Currently he is playing in the cello section of Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and teaching cello in Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and in Sibelius Academy.

  • International Krzystof Penderecki Cello Competition, 2008 – I prize
