Imagine losing your best friend or relative and being pregnant when your sixteen years old. Well this is what happened to sixteen year olds scarlet and Halley. Ever since they first meet, when a moving truck came. Halley has always turned to scarlet when things get rough, and Scarlett has always known just what to do. But, everything changes at the beginning of the junior year for everyone. Scarlett’s boyfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident and Scarlett finds out that she’s going to have a child. Halley goes with her everywhere and tries to make sure Scarlett is going to be fine. Then, Scarlett and Halley’s parents find out that they are ditching school and forging signatures. Who will Halley and Scarlett turn to now?

Sarah Dessen was born in Evanston, Illinois on June 6, 1970. She moved with her family to Virginia then North Carolina where she now resides with her husband, Jay, daughter Sasha, and dogs. After dropping out of Greensboro College she began taking classes at the University of North Carolina where she graduated with honors. She was a waitress for some time before leaving her job to accept a position as a teacher at UNC. She then left that job to become a full-time author. She became an author when she was in her older years. She also has a daughter and that’s how some of Sarah’s ideas may come from. As far as we all know, Sarah is still living with us today.
