Sent Away Boys is a 2016 Punjabi documentary film director by Harjant Gill.[1] It was funded by Wenner-Gren Foundation and Public Service Broadcasting Trust. The documentary explores the reasons behind migration of Punjabis and how this affects their families.

Synopsis

The documentary focuses on three different families. Gurkirpal Grewal belongs to a wealthy background and is able to go to Canada due to his knowledge of English language. Ishwarjot Rana is unable to immigrate because he is not well-versed in English language despite being from a middle-class Jatt family. Sukhvir Kaur and her mother don't wish to leave India as they have felt the pain of being away from their loved ones.[2]
