Sergey Ivanovich Koksharov (Сергей Иванович Кокшаров) is a Russian firearm designer working for the Kovrov Mechanical Plant (Ковровский Механический Завод). He is most well known for his rifle design, the AEK-971, having variants for 5.45×39mm, 5.56×45mm and 7.62×39mm rounds.
