Serranochromis is a genus of relatively large, predatory cichlids from freshwater habitats in mainland Southern Africa, ranging as far north as DR Congo and Tanzania. Depending on the exact species involved, the maximum length is between 25 and 56 cm (9.8 and 22.0 in).[1]
