'''SevOne, Inc.''' is a [[network performance]] management company providing tools and services with an innovative view on distributed management. Historically, systems performance monitoring and management has been centralized using network management platforms such as HP OpenView, resulting in a requirement that all information be returned to a central location for analysis. In large networks, this proves to be a bottleneck that limits applicability. SevOne's products address this by distributing data collection and analysis under administrative control.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.infoworld.com/d/adventures-in-it/real-performance-hard-find-075 |title=CIO Views: Real performance is hard to find|last=Hultquist|first=Stephen|date=June 6, 2008|work=InfoWorld|accessdate=2008-09-29}}</ref>

SevOne, Inc. is a venture funded network performance management company. Its platform is marketed as an ‘appliance’ and provides network managers with monitoring, troubleshooting and performance reporting capabilities. The company is based in Delaware and named after the slang for the “severity one” performance problems network managers face.

History

The company was founded in 2005 by computer scientists from the University of Delaware who also served as network architects at leading financial institutions. SevOne is funded and backed by a group of private investors and venture capitalists.[1]

Awards

SevOne’s Performance Appliance Solution was named as one of eWEEK’s “Products to Watch” for 2009, awarded to the new hardware, software, or services that enterprise IT managers should have on their radar.[2]

In August 2010, SevOne was awarded “Most Innovative Architecture” by the Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), in the EMA for Application-Aware Network Performance Management (ANPM) 2010. In the same report, SevOne was also ranked in the “Strong Value” category for being loaded with ANPM capabilities, ease of deployment and administration, and cost efficiency. [3]
