Shaa Lysa Wasmund MBE (born 28 May 1972) is a British businesswoman.

Early life

Shaa was educated at the London School of Economics,[citation needed] during which period she won a competition with Cosmopolitan magazine to interview the boxer Chris Eubank.[citation needed] During the interview Eubank invited Wasmund to become his assistant and manage his PR.[citation needed] While still at university, she promoted Eubank’s fight with Nigel Benn[citation needed] - the biggest fight to ever take place in Britain.[citation needed]

Career

In 1994 Wasmund started her own PR firm which managed the launch of Dyson vacuum cleaners.[citation needed]

In a move to digital business in 1997 she became a founding director of the travel website Deckchair.[citation needed] She then went on to launch lifestyle website "My kinda place" in 2000.[citation needed] Seven years later, the site was sold to BSkyB.[citation needed] In 2007, Wasmund established Bright Station Ventures, an investment vehicle with $100million of capital.[citation needed] In January 2009 Wasmund launched Smarta, a site dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners.[citation needed]

Wasmund was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to business and entrepreneurship.[1][2]

Author

In 2012 Wasmund launched her first book, Stop Talking, Start Doing. The book was the #1 Best Selling Business Book in WH Smith for 14 months in a row.[citation needed]
