"Shake It" is a popular song from 1978 by British singer Ian Matthews. It was the first single from Matthews' sixteenth studio LP, Stealin' Home, and became his greatest hit. It was written by singer-songwriter Terence Boylan, who recorded and released it in 1977.

Matthews' cover was a North American hit, peaking in late February 1979. In Canada it reached number six for two weeks.[2] In the US, it reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 11 on Record World, and spent two weeks at number 10 on the Cashbox Top 100.[3] "Shake It" spent 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, ranking it as the 73rd greatest hit of 1979.

The song is heard at the beginning of the 1980 movie Little Darlings. It can also be heard on the radio in the game The Warriors from Rockstar Games.
