Sherine Ahmed El Zeiny (Arabic: شيرين أحمد الزيني; born (1991-02-23)23 February 1991) is a Dutch-Egyptian artistic gymnast. She was born in the Netherlands and trains in Amsterdam, but represents Egypt at international competitions. She represented the Netherlands as a junior at the 2004 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

El Zeiny competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and has been selected to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.[1]

Early life

El Zeiny's mother, Eman Roshdy, was a tennis champion, and her father, Ahmed El Zeiny, was a squash champion.

When El Zeiny was six, she attended a school gym day in a gymnastics hall, and a trainer there advised her mother to take her to the gymnastics club DOS Alphen aan den Rijn. Within two weeks, she was moved to Selection A, considered the highest group level.
