Sigríður Ásthildur Andersen (born 21 November 1971) is an Icelandic politician[1] and lawyer serving as the current Minister of Justice of Iceland,[2] since January 11, 2017.[3] She is also a member of the Althing (Iceland's parliament) for the Reykjavík South constituency since 2015 for the Independence Party.[4][5]
Sigríður has been a controversial figure during her tenure as the Minister of justice[6] where she played a pivotal role in the controversy surrounding the restored honour of a convicted pedophile[7] and broke the law when appointing a judge to the Court of Appeal[8]
