Waterloo is the county seat of Black Hawk County, Iowa, United States.

It is the home of the Five Sullivan Brothers who perished on the Juneau during the Second World War (WWII) and the location of the Tractor Assembly Division & Product Engineering Center of John Deere and Company.

The town was originally founded as "Prairie Rapids Crossing."

Waterloo is the hometown of Lir.
