Skylight is a novel by Portuguese writer José Saramago.

Saramago originally submitted Skylight for publication in 1953, but the publisher misplaced the manuscript. Rediscovered 36 years later Saramago decided to hold publication until his death. Skylight was published in Portugal in 2011, one year after the writer's death. It has been translated into English by Margaret Jull Costa.[1]

The novel looks at lives in a shabby Lisbon apartment building in the 1940s.[1]
