Sophie Rammal Alakija (born: 7 February 1994), is an actress in Nigerian cinema. She is most notable for the roles in Halita and Assistant Madams.

Personal life

Alakija was born on 7 February 1994 to an Islamic family who are Efik (a tribe in cross-state Calabar) with a Lebanese descent.[1] Her brother, Jay Rammal is also a popular actor.

Sophie used to date famed Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid for long time from 2010 to 2016.[2]

In 2016, she married to Wale Alakija, son of the richest Black women in the world: Folorunso Alakija.[3] The wedding was celebrated on 27 March 2016 in Surulere, Lagos. The couple has two sons.[1] However, in 2020, reports announced that Sophie allegedly abandoned her husband and two children to have her ‘baby girl’ lifestyle back.[4]

Career

At the age of 16, she featured in the Holla At your boy music video of her ex-boyfriend Wizkid as the lead dancer in the year 2010.[3]

She has acted several popular films including: Drawing Strands, Getting over him, and Small Chops.[5]. In 2017, she acted in the TV series Scandals, which is a collaboration between Ghana and Nigeria.[6] In 2019, she acted in the TV series Halita and then in the TV series Assistant Madams and Timini Egbuson's Muslim wife in 2020.[7]
