Walnut Valley Unified School District. South Pointe is wonderful middle school
serving students in grades sixth through eighth. South Pointe has been a California
Distinguished School in 1999 and 2005. On Great Schools[1],
this middle school has been rated a 9/10.
- South Pointe School is also well-known for its use of technology. One of the seventh
grade history teachers, Ms. Brittenham, runs a Podcasting [[2]] site online. You can watch some student creations of SPMS. Along with the podcasting, this middle school also has a Multimedia Class for eighth grade students with a 2.5 GPA or higher. This class take place at a 0 Period (before school begins) and involves recording a brodcast of the morning school-wide news, KSPS. Each morning, as the bell rings, all of the televisions automatically power on and the newscast is played. KSPS is mainly involves any activities going on that day, an announcement of the previous days sports game, and on Fridays, humorous skits are played by a sixth grade history teacher, Mr. Peshman. He often gets into arguments with the teacher of the Multimedia Class, Mr. Everman.
