Sport Relief 2012, was a fund raising event organised by Sport Relief, broadcast live on BBC One and BBC Two from the evening of 23 March 2012 to early the following morning. It was held on Friday 23 March from 7:00pm to 1:30am live from the BBC Television Centre.

Before the Live Event
Another series of Let's Dance for Comic Relief and Sport Relief ran from the 18th February 2012 - 17th March 2012. Once again Steve Jones and Alex Jones hosted the show. The Final consisted of Laurie Brett and Tameka Empson, Terry Alderton, Miles Jupp, Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, Tyger Drew-Honey and Dani Harmer, Omid Djalili, Rowland Rivron and Fatima Whitbread

In the Autumn of 2011 David Walliams swam 140 miles of the The Thames in eight days. During the eight days Walliams suffered from illness and flu. Walliams took time to recover after the event due to the intake of Thames water that contained bacteria and sewage. David swam a total of 140 miles in eight days, a total of 111,352 strokes were swam and 68,186 calories were burnt. So far David has raised £1,194,258 for Sport Relief.

Fearless Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton made it to the South Pole in just 18 days by ski, bike and kite, bringing her epic, 500-mile Antarctic expedition to a triumphant close. For this gruelling challenge, Helen travelled up to 14 hours a day across the coldest and windiest place on earth, battling blizzards and sub-zero temperatures. If you're inspired by Helen, you too can go the extra mile by doing the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25th March.

On the 27th February 2012 comedian John Bishop took on a week of challenges billed as John Bishop's Week of Hell. Originally John was to complete the challenge with James Corden but he had to pull out due to his commitments with the West End Show One Man, Two Guvnors. John rowed, ran and cycled 295 miles from Paris to London in just five days. So far John has raised £1,670,137.
