St. Peter's School was the first bilingual school established in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain).
It was established in 1964 by José Mª Ginjaume Mencerré, Marian Garriga and Jaume Lerma. The initial idea was to provide students the chance to learn English and to give an individualized education.
Pedagogical outline
The school follows the Spanish curriculum.
At present it provides its students with 5 languages: English, Spanish, Catalan, French and German. It also offers Chinese as an optional extraschool language.
Teaching is in English to students from 18 months old until the end of E.S.O. (15 years old). The other languages are gradually introduced starting in primary, but English is the main teaching language up to Bachillerato (Baccalaureate).
In Bachillerato, pupils takes the Spanish Selectividad exams, and Cambridge A-levels in some subjects (currently in Business, Maths, French, English, Spanish, IT and Global Perspectives).
In 2010 they introduced SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) in their syllabus for all ages.

- Primary - British 90%, Spanish 6%, Others 4%.
- Secondary - British 60%, Spanish 30%, Others 10%.

- Alberto Puig (Barcelona, 16/1/1967). Former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer.
- Carles Vila (Barcelona, 1/1/1974). Cinema director (Falsa culpable, El criminal).
- Daniel Benmayor (Barcelona, 1973). Cinema director (Paintball, 2009).
- Oriol Vila (Barcelona, 1978). Actor. We've seen him in the Spanish TV series El Cor de la Ciutat and in the movie Las maletas de Tulse Luper, .
- Pati Nuñez (Figueras, 1959). Designer. In 2006 she obtains the National Culture Proze given by the Catalan Government.
- Pedro de la Rosa (Barcelona, 24 de febrero de 1971). Formula 1 driver.
- Roser Clavell i Soldevilla (Barcelona, 1961). Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Catalan Government, since 2007.
