St. Peter's Secondary School is an urban high school located in Peterborough, Ontario. The school is administered by the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. The school is built for 1400 students from Grade 9 to 12. As of 2006, the school is run by superintendent Deirdre Thomas and principal Kathy Ross. It belongs to the Diocese of Peterborough, under the Bishop Nicola De Angelis.

Notables

  • St. Peter's is also known in Canada, and globally, as the school which regularly raises the most money for the annual Terry Fox Run For The Cure, bringing in over $85 000 in 2002 and its most recent 2010 campaign topping the $1 000 000 mark for total funds raised in the school's 21 year history with the run.
  • In 1991, with the opening of a new 1400 capacity building, SPSS became the first Peterborough high school in decades to institute a school uniform policy.
  • A film adaptation of Steven Gould's Science Fiction novel Jumper, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen had filmed some scenes in the halls, and classrooms of St. Peter's.
  • The very famous Adult Film star Dick-Sexyman Moustacherson attended the school in 1943, while still under Nazi occupation
