Stephen Comey

Stephen Comey (born in London, England in 1963) is an English Australian actor. He is the son of Irishman Albert Comey and his Australian wife Denise Lee. The Comey's moved to Australia in 1969.

Biography

He has appeared in the Crawford Productions drama Cop Shop (1982), and ABC's Come Midnight Monday (1982) but is best known for his role as Kevin Palmer in the television soap opera Sons and Daughters. Steve appeared in the series from its debut in 1981 until 1984 for which he won the 1982 Logie Award for "Most Popular New Talent".

Other television productions Steve has appeared in include Kennedy Miller's "Vietnam", Seven's "Hey Dad", Seven's "Home and Away" and Nine's "The Flying Doctors".

Stage credits include the Sydney Theatre Company's "Six Characters in Search of an Author" and the Pavilion Theatre's "The Lion in Winter".

From 1988 until 2004, he was the Special Event, Community and Cultural Event and Buskers Coordinator for Sydney's Darling Harbour. From 2004 until 2008 he was Civic Events Coordinator/Event Manager for Baulkham Hills Shire Council. During 2008, Stephen was Operations Manager—Youth Festivals for World Youth Day 2008 (WYD08) as well as Coordinator of National Gatherings and Venue procurement. Over November to January in both 2008/2009 and 2009/2010, Steve was the Precinct Coordinator of Sydney's Macquarie Street for the Sydney New Year's Eve Celebrations. 2009 was a busy year for Stephen as he was Special Event Coordinator of the 2009 World Masters Games.

2010 until 2013 he was the Exhibitions Operations Executive for the Sydney Royal Easter Show, managing the Operational side, of the Commercial side of the Show.

After a year as Venue Coordinator and then Acting Event Manager of the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, Stephen is now settled as Senior Exhibition Manager for the auspicious"Australian Water Association".

Steve is has been actively involved with Junior AFL Club the Quakers Hill Bombers in Sydney, Australia whilst also supporting the Carlton Football Club.

Performance wise, Stephen has joined with some passionate Theatre loving friends to create "Radio Active Live", who perform timeless Radio Plays on stage in Sydney's Hills District. "Radio Active Live" was formed in 2012.
