Steve Hollar (born c. 1966) is an American actor known for his role as Rade Butcher in the 1986 film Hoosiers starring Gene Hackman.

Hollar was actually playing college basketball in 1986 for DePauw University at the time of the filming of Hoosiers. This caused an investigation by the NCAA, as it is illegal for college players to be paid for playing sports during their college eligibility. Hollar's case was dismissed; it was determined he was being paid for acting, not for playing basketball. As penance, Hollar was suspended 3 games[1] and required to give DePauw 5 percent of his movie earnings.

Hoosiers was Hollar's first and last acting role; he used his earnings to pay for dental school and today works as a dentist in Warsaw, Indiana, his hometown.[2]
