Stewart provides these services to homebuyers and sellers; residential and commercial real estate professionals; mortgage lenders and servicers; title agencies and real estate attorneys; home builders; and United States and county governments. Stewart also provides loan origination and servicing support; loan review services; loss mitigation; REO asset management; collateral valuations; due diligence for capital markets; home and personal insurance services; tax-deferred exchanges; and technology to streamline the real estate process.
Founded by Maco Stewart[2] in 1893 in Galveston, Texas, the company has grown to offer title insurance policies and escrow services in more than 80 countries.[3][4] In 2014 Stewart Title was recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies in America.[5] In 2012, SISCO was nationally recognized in Forbes’ Top 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in the U.S.[6] It was number four on the 2007 FORTUNE magazine’s "America’s Most Admired Companies" in "Mortgage Services".[7] It was also number 703 on the Fortune 1000 list in 2006.[8]
