Nasa's Wallops Flight Facility is among the agencies that have used the SvalRak launch site at Ny-Ålesund

SvalRak is the name of a launch site for sounding rockets in the neighbourhood of Ny-Ålesund on Spitsbergen at 78°55′53″N 11°51′01″E / 78.93139°N 11.85028°E / 78.93139; 11.85028. The launch site SvalRak has been in service since 1997 and is suitable for the launch of rockets for the investigation of the earth's magnetic field. SvalRak is owned and operated by Andøya Rocket Range.
