Taiping Era

The Taiping Era (太平, Tàipíng, lit. "Great Peace") may translate various periods of Chinese history:

• The third period (AD 256–258) of the reign of Sun Liang of Wu during the Three Kingdoms
• The entire reign (409–430) of Feng Ba of the Northern Yan during the 16 Kingdoms
• The entire reign (440–451) of Emperor Taiwu of the Northern Wei during the Northern and Southern Dynasties
• The second period (556–557) of the reign of Emperor Jing of Liang during the Northern and Southern Dynasties
• The fourth period (1021–1031) of the reign of Emperor Shengzong of the Liao Dynasty
• The first period (976–984) of the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Song dynasty

Informally, Taiping Era or era may also refer to the era of the Taiping Rebellion and its Kingdom, although neither of its rulers used "Taiping" as their formal era name.
