Change Title of Article?

[edit]

Hey wondering if we can/should change the title of the article to "Dask" with the disambiguation ... like Pandas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panda_(disambiguation) : "Dask (software)". Then we could probably remove that tag about no context. Library doesn't add much context. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Perplextase (talkcontribs) 18:47, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok so nvm I see how to do so, and I went ahead and did so... Perplextase (talk) 18:50, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And I think now that the "software" context is cleared up, and the infobox includes what License we're dealing with here... we can remove that warning? Perplextase (talk) 18:51, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

This is a fairly widely used library I think: Its github page has 4600+ stars https://github.com/dask/dask and it's been mentioned in lots of places, e.g:

I first heard about it because the UK MET Office is using it (and presented it at a talk in Manchester at the Advances in Data Science 2017 or 2018). Lionfish0 (talk) 09:07, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is a widely used bit of software that I wanted to read a bit more about and doesn't have a wikipedia page. I've added some links to random pages with people talking about it. I've not got time at the moment to expand the actual article. --Lionfish0 (talk) 09:09, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Fram#Deleted%20Dask

I'll hang fire for deleting it, but I'm not removing the CSD tag though. Someone else might still decide that the article should be deleted, so do not take me not deleting it as a sign that the article can stay. I would suggest it would be better to create this article in your own user area, and at your own pace, then moving it to mainspace when complete. At the moment, it is likely to be deleted for lack of content alone. Remember, you will need to link to notable sources, rather than just any old page that talks about it. Stephen!
