Expert attention needed[edit]

Although this has been formatted to conform with MOS, content problems are still preety obvious "Migration inducting gene 7 (Mig-7 or Mig7) is a gene [found in which organisms?]. The protein [presumably the one that it encodes for] [...]" But then we're told it's non-coding? Etc. Someone not using his real name (talk) 13:08, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure I follow. The first para in the lead says that it is translated from what are thought to be non-coding RNAs; obviously, the conventional wisdom was wrong and that is one of the reasons that this protein is interesting. The second para in the lead states that it is found in human fetal cells and epithelial cancer cells. The Ho paper (third reference) talks about a mouse model, but I don't know that anyone has done a comparative genomics study across species. --Mark viking (talk) 13:49, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
