ASSumed bit big-endianness

This article assumes that bits within a byte are "naturally" counted from higher to lower. That's far from obvious and far from what's generally used. Notating digits from highest to lowest significance left to right can very well be assumed to be the 'natural' order as it is used in the vast majority today (at least in English which is this site's language). One thousand is generally written as decimal 1000 and not 0001. Please compare to Positional notation for more information. --Zac67 (talk) 10:12, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
