Description
[edit]Is this really an objective description of the piece? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.44.67.227 (talk) 18:55, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
No, it is definitely not. The use of "this gem of a piece", or "What follows is a delightfully witty, artful set of variations", etc, suggest that the author is writing his own opinion, and not listing facts. No references, no quotes... This article should be rewritten. If you know a good biography, work or anything talking about Dohnanyi and/or this piece, you can refer me to it, I might take the time to rewrite the article then. - User:JeremyAR
The piece receives an approving review in Tovey's "Essays on Musical Analysis" which at any rate illustrates that one eminent musicologist considered it to be important, as he was selective in the works he included. The factual aspects of the description here (e.g. the titles and order of the variations) appear to be correct. Hyperman 42 (talk) 20:20, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
