I'm taking ownership of this page[edit]

I'm Deathblade, a professional translator of xianxia novels. I would like to take the lead in adding to and maintaining the page. Please feel free to contribute, but check with me before making any major changes. One thing that needs to be done is add even more references. Sadly, many English-language articles and resources are just plain wrong in the things they say about xianxia, so using Chinese sources might be the best thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DeathbladeISSTH (talkcontribs) 02:05, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You'll want to read WP:OWN. While you're more than welcome to expand and maintain the page, you cannot own it. — Frood (talk!) 02:08, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Italics[edit]

Are "italic title" and italicizing xianxia really needed anymore? It probably made sense when the genre was more obscure on the grounds that foreign terms are italicized. But as MOS:FOREIGNITALIC says, " isolated foreign words that do not yet have everyday use in non-specialized English". But it appears that English does use the term now, e.g. https://www.sydney.edu.au/arts/news-and-events/news/2023/01/18/chinas-tv-dramas-exploring-the-popularity-of-xianxia.html . This would imply italics are no longer necessary, similar to wuxia. SnowFire (talk) 08:16, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
