Tampereen monitoimiareena or unofficially before Tampere Central Arena is an indoor arena in Tampere in Finland that is currently in the planning stages. It is planned to replace the old Tampere Ice Stadium. If approved and completed on schedule in 2017, it will have a seating capacity of 11,000 spectators. It will host ice hockey games and will be the home of Ilves and Tappara of the SM-liiga. The project was approved by the Tampere City Council on May 19, 2010.[1] However, as of May 2012 the future of the project remains uncertain and no construction work has been made.
