Tanki X is an action game made by AlternativaPlatform. It is similar in some aspects to Tanki Online, but is entirely different in most of the aspects of the above-mentioned game.[1] According to AlternativaPlatform, it "builds on the huge success of its predecessor", with "drastically improved" graphics, physics and playability.[1] An announcement teaser has been released by AlternativaPlatform on the Tanki X website.[2] The official Closed Beta test for Tanki X was first opened on February 1, 2016. Then, it moved to Open Beta testing on September 15, 2016.[3]

History

The first idea of creating a new version of Tanki Online was in 2011 with Tanki Online 2.0, which was in testing for a month after being discontinued.

  1. It was first announced on March 21, 2015, with information about the team deciding to develop a new version of Tanki Online and its graphics based on Unity.[4] But the game began development in 2011.
  2. It was later changed to Unity 5.
  3. Tanki X's Open Beta testing was launched on September 15, 2016.[5]
  4. Tanki X had its first Halloween in 2016, and players got unlimited supplies, as well as the garage was changed.

Gameplay

As in Tanki Online, in Tanki X players assemble their tanks from a variety of combinations of guns and hulls, and battle against players in game modes including Solo Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag.[3]

Tanki X retains the most popular features of its predecessor,[3] including:

  • High-speed and optimized gameplay,
  • Realistic graphics,
  • Instant respawns,
  • Spawning power-ups for enhanced gameplay,
  • Selection of hulls of various speeds and armors,
  • Turrets such as flamethrowers ("Firebird"), freeze guns ("Freeze"), high-caliber shotguns ("Hammer"), snipers, ("Shaft"), projectile shooters of different power ratings (lowest to highest) ("Smoky", "Thunder", "Railgun") plasma blasters ("Twins", with bouncing projectiles, "Ricochet") and machine guns ("Vulcan").
