Tavern Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Missouri.[1] It is a tributary of the Osage River.

Some say Tavern Creek was named from a corrupton of the French caverne, meaning "cave", while others believe water and game were so abundant there, pioneers likened the stream to a tavern.[2]
