==Biography==
Akbar’s passion in photography and design was kindled as a boy in his elementary school years. At home, he designed a faux newspaper of his own from magazine cut-outs and his photo works, had them xeroxed and hawked around his neighbourhood.<ref name=Weekender>Pop Culture's Child, The Jakarta Post Weekender, November 2009, http://www.thejakartapost.com/weekender</ref>

His exposure to the 1970’s music from his father’s music collection has led him to enrol to the [[Graphic Design]] Department at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ) to pursue his dreams in making legendary bands’ cover art.<ref name=Weekender/>

Akbar began working in the advertising industry after his IKJ years. His professional career as an art director in various ad agencies, such as [[Leo Burnett Worldwide]] (Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur), and [[Ogilvy & Mather]] Jakarta has earned him local and international awards.
