The Global Volcanism Program website has changed and it has become necessary to alter this template. This documentation applies to links using the current volcano numbers. |
This citation template can be used to cite Global Volcanism Program web pages using a "Volcano Number".
Usage
A search engine can be found here. If the name contains "Mount", "Peak" or something similar, enter the name without the designation. For example, for "Mount Hood" enter Hood. For Volcán de Fuego, enter Fuego.

- Values for
|vn=
and|name=
should be specified. - Using the template with no parameters returns a link to the home page.
- The template accepts all parameters that {{cite web}} accepts, e.g.,
|access-date=
. - Use
|vtab=
to link to a vtab specific page such as "Eruptions" for Eruptive History. When using|vtab=
, append the full name of the vtab to thename
separated by a colon and space character (see Examples). - Use
|archive-date=
to generate an archive link to GVP. No need to supply|archive-url=
. Set|url-status=live
if original GVP page is still live.
