This template generates one or more links for the Japanese National Bibliography Number (全国書誌番号) or JPNO of publications. The Japanese National Bibliography (日本全国書誌) is maintained by the National Diet Library (国立国会図書館) of Japan. It takes up to nine parameters. It is intended as an alternative, when the book in question does not appear in the Online Computer Library Center.

The template can also be used inside the |id= parameter of the various {{cite xxx}} citation templates.

Links to: https://iss.ndl.go.jp/api/openurl?ndl_jpno=21005395&locale=en — an OpenURL search result rather than directly linking to the item.

Though https://id.ndl.go.jp/jpno/21005395 redirects to https://iss.ndl.go.jp/api/openurl?ndl_jpno=21005395, the same search result, linking directly to the OpenURL API allows for also requesting the English UI.

Note: Unlike the NDL's bib ID, e.g., https://id.ndl.go.jp/bib/000008144816/eng, the JPNO is designed to also be used outside of NDL, e.g., http://webcatplus.nii.ac.jp/webcatplus/details/book/nbn/21005395.html from Webcat Plus by the National Institute of Informatics (国立情報学研究所).
