Parameters
- category – set
|category=noif, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter. - listas – this parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for John Smith, use
|listas=Smith, Johnso that the talk page will show up in the Smith's and not the John's of the various assessment and administrative categories. Similarly, for topics with titles beginning with an article such as "the" or "a" - e.g. for The Matrix, use|listas=Matrix, Theso that the talk page will show up in the Matrix's. This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category. It is not required if another WikiProject template on the same page has its own {{para|listas}} set, since it affects the sortkey of all banners and templates. - class – see #Quality assessment below.
- importance – see #Importance assessment below.
Notes and alerts
- auto – this parameter is for the use of bots and indicates that the article has been automatically rated:
- length – based on the length of the article;
- inherit – because one or more other projects use this class;
- yes or stub (in conjunction with
|class=stub) – as Stub-Class because it uses a stub template.
Task forces
- Essex – set
|Essex=yesif the article is supported by the Essex task force. This parameter populates Category:Essex articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Essex articles by quality based on the|class=parameter. This parameter uses|Essex-importance=to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Essex articles by importance. - Suffolk – set
|Suffolk=yesif the article is supported by the Suffolk task force. This parameter populates Category:Suffolk articles. This parameter uses|Suffolk-importance=to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Suffolk articles by importance.

Classification of redirects and disambiguation pages
|class= parameter is not defined and the WikiProject banner is placed on the talk page of a redirect (in any namespace) or disambigation page then it will automatically be classified as follows:- Redirects will automatically be classified as NA-class and placed in Category:NA-Class East Anglia articles.
- Disambiguation pages will automatically be classified as Disambig-class and placed in Category:Disambig-Class East Anglia articles.
