Name change[edit]

As per the edit note, "Southern Lower Mainland" is redundant and ALSO plain wrong, especially since Maple Ridge-Mission is here, and because Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon includes a big chunk of the Interior (most of the riding, in fact, is Interior, if not population-wise). The Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland are only distinguishable by the inclusion of Burrard Inlet areas in the latter term. Technically, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam ridings should also be here, or are at any rate considered also Fraser Valley. If the former title and the ongoing region definition here are the result of Elections Canada groupings, the incorrect fudging of BC geography by some bozo in Ottawa is not a reliable source (many examples of Central Canadian misnomers on BC regions/placenames abound...). The target article has also been changed, and this template should be "Ridings in the Fraser Valley". Unless perhaps ungrammatical template names are the norm as in {{Ridings in Golden Horseshoe}} instead of {{Ridings in the Golden Horseshoe}}.Skookum1 (talk) 12:25, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see I've been here before.....this template omits the New Westminster and Coquitlam ridings, and so also omits the NDP seats. The Fraser Valley isn't just south of the Fraser and east of the Pitt, people....I'll look up to see what the various media coverage groups things by, but I'll bet they don't exclude New West and Coquitlam/Poco from "the Fraser Valley"...if they even use that as a regional definition.Skookum1 (talk) 19:47, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
