Tetso College was established in 1994. It is a Liberal Commerce and Arts (Humanities) College, recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission), accredited ‘B’ Grade by NAAC and affiliated to the Nagaland University. The Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) sponsors Tetso College. The word ‘TETSO’ is a word taken from the indigenous Rengma Naga dialect and means ‘TOP’.

The college has been a consistent performer securing many university ranks, and as an active participant in social activites attached to NSS, NCC, EU, Young Indians and many more. A spacious campus, with a four court indoor badminton stadium, volleyball and basketball courts, amphitheater, multimedia room and more ensure students have the necessary infrastructure to learn in a progressive environment. The college provides honours programmes in a variety of disciplines for humanities and commerce.
