Tha Chill (born Vernon Johnson in Compton, California in 1970) is a co-founder of the Compton based hip hop group Compton's Most Wanted, along with frontman MC Eiht. During his childhood, Chill dropped out of high school and hooked up with neighbourhood friend MC Eiht, to form the group.[1]

Chill has produced several albums, including The Hard Way, released in 2004 by the Long Beach-based supergroup 213. He contributed musically only on the debut album of Compton's Most Wanted, It's a Compton Thang, as the group disbanded after he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. However, he was subsequently a featured performer on the reunion album, Represent. Tha Chill was set to release his debut solo album, Chill Factor, in 2008.[2]

Tha Chill is currently[when?] releasing music through B.J.I./Hoopla Media/LRT Music/Universal Records.[3]

Tha Chill is part of the hip hop supergroup 1st Generation with Kurupt, Jayo Felony, King T, DJ Battlecat, MC Eiht and Sir Jinx.[4][5]
