The Big Beat is a television show broadcast on the ABC Network in the 1950s[1] hosted by Alan Freed and subsequently Richard Hayes. The show was cancelled in 1957 when it showed Frankie Lymon, a black man, dancing with a white woman.[1] A local version continued on WNEW-TV New York.
