History

The British College (also known as TBC)[1] is an independent institution located in Trade Tower Business Center[2] Thapathali, Kathmandu. It was established in 2012 with the objective to provide undergraduate and post graduate courses[3] of reputed UK Universities. The college is in partnership with University of the West of England (popularly known as UWE) and Leeds Beckett University (formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University). The courses that TBC offers are focused on Business Studies and Computing. However, the college provides other courses such as GCE A Level, ACCA and CIMA as well.[4]

Courses

GCE A Level

The British Model College (also known as BMC) is a sister concern of The British College. The BMC runs all the activities under TBC and delivers A Level courses from Cambridge International Examination (CIE).[5] [6]

Business Courses

TBC offers undergraduate as well as post graduate courses. The BBA (Hons) Business and Management degree is a 4-year course affiliated to UWE where the student studies one year of foundation level and three years of University course. The post graduate courses offered by TBC are MBA (Graduate) along with MBA (Executive) from LBU and MSc in International Business Management (MIBM) from UWE.[7]

Information Technology Courses

The B.Sc (Hons) Computing and MSc. Information & Technology programme is run in partnership with Leeds Beckett University, UK. The courses entirely focus on computer programming, database development, networking, website development, systems modelling and computer security.,[8][9]

ACCA

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body for professional accountants. This course is for those students who are looking to pursue a career in accountancy, management and finance.,[10][11]

CIMA

The British College offers CIMA classes. CIMA members are business decision makers who are fully engaged in selecting the services and the products their businesses need.[12]

Along with these, there are other short term courses that The British College offers. They are - IELTS Preparatory Courses, Cambridge Business English Certificate, Pearson Test of English Academic[13]
