The Hooligan Factory is a 2014 Football hooliganism spoof film directed, co-written and starring Nick Nevern. The film heavily parodies titles from the British hooligan genre films and focuses mainly on The Firm, along with The Football Factory, Rise of the Footsoldier, I.D., Green Street and Cass.

Plot

Danny (Jason Maza) wants something more from life having been expelled from school and living in his grandfathers flat, he longs to live up to the image of his estranged father Danny Senior (Ronnie Fox). Sent to prison for force feeding a judge his own wig Danny Senior was a legend and Danny is looking for a way to emulate his father's achievements and rise to be "top boy". Meanwhile legendary football hooligan Dex (Nick Nevern) is about to be released. Dex is on a quest of his own, one of vengeance against his nemesis and rival firm leader The Baron (Keith-Lee Castle). But when Danny and Dex's paths cross they embark on a journey as old as hooliganism itself. Dex, Danny and The Hooligan Factory travel the length of the country on a mission to re-establish their firm's glory days. However, the police are closing in and we get a sense that the Hooligan Factory's best days may be behind them, but with Danny on their side, and Dex finding his old form who knows where this may lead. After all... It's a funny old game.[1]

Production

The film features numerous cameo appearances from actors who have been type cast in the Hooligan genre films. Leo Gregory has a minor role while there were cameos from Danny Dyer,[2] Tamer Hassan, Craig Fairbrass and Tony Denham[3] who feature in one scene each, while there was also a cameo from former hooligan and inspiration behind the film Cass, Cass Pennant. Former West Ham United footballer Julian Dicks,[4] The Only Way is Essex personality Chloe Sims and Hollyoaks actor Charlie Clapham also make minor appearances. Dexter Fletcher also filmed a scene but it was cut from the final take.[5]
