The Mac Weekly is the student newspaper of Macalester College. It has a circulation of 1,600 and was established in 1914.[1] The paper publishes twelve or thirteen volumes, ranging from 16 to 24 pages, each semester.[2]

Joe Klein and Heather Johansen, editors in chief from March 2015 to December 2015. Their tenures on the paper, while marked with scandal and staff turmoil, were generally noted as the golden age of the press.

The paper's staff are mostly volunteers, with the exception of the editor in chief, the web manager and the advertising editor who receive payment from the college. A satirical section, The Mock Weekly, is added to the last issue of each semester. The paper has published a magazine three times, in April 2006, March 2007 and November 2007.
